KAYLA MCKINNEY

A Rising Voice

How did Kayla McKinney begin to sing? Well, if you had been at an elementary school talent contest in the 1990s, you would have heard that little girl’s voice winning over her classmates and teachers. That is when Kayla knew what her purpose in life was going to be, to sing.

Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline, and Carrie Underwood were big influences on Kayla's early musical journey. Cline’s “Crazy” was an early influence, and Underwood’s “Jesus Take The Wheel” helped to set Kayla on the long road of country music; a road that has since blossomed into a full-time career as a regional country artist and a catalog of popular original songs.

Today you can find her music on Spotify, Amazon, and many other streaming platforms, including her album, “These Two Barstools”. Meanwhile, Country fans can find Kayla on stages all across the southeastern United States, enchanting her growing crowds with songs that share the joys and challenges of a Country Woman's heart.  Kayla says, “I want to share my music and message of empowering women. Music is the one thing that I am good at. That is the one thing where I can accomplish my goals through lyric and song. At the end of my life, I can say, ‘I did this’, and people's lives are better because of it.”
